Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 40 minutes
Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 1 cup Dill pickles, finely chopped and well drained
  • 2 tablespoons, plus more as needed Pickle brine
Seasonings
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
  • As needed Salt

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Soften the cream cheese to room temperature. Beat the softened cream cheese and sour cream together until completely smooth.
  2. Mix in the pickle brine, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until evenly combined. Start with 2 tablespoons of brine.
  3. Fold in the finely chopped, well-drained dill pickles and fresh dill. Stir gently so the pickle pieces remain distributed throughout the dip.
  4. Taste the dip and adjust with more pickle brine, pepper, or salt only if needed. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Drain the pickles well before chopping so the dip does not become watery. Add extra pickle brine gradually; some versions use up to 1/4 cup for a looser, stronger-flavored dip. The dip firms up and tastes more intensely pickle-forward after chilling.
