Creamy Jalapeño Ranch Dip Everyone Will Love

A smooth, cool, and tangy ranch dip blended with fresh jalapeño, cilantro, garlic, and lime. It makes about 2 cups and is ready with only 10 minutes of active preparation.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 40 minutes
Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 packet, about 1 ounce Dry ranch dressing seasoning mix
Fresh Flavorings
  • 1 Fresh jalapeño, stemmed and roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup Fresh cilantro leaves, loosely packed
  • 1 Small garlic clove, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh lime juice
Consistency
  • 2-4 tablespoons, as needed Buttermilk or milk

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Add the sour cream, mayonnaise, ranch seasoning, chopped jalapeño, cilantro, garlic, and lime juice to a blender or food processor.
  2. Blend until the mixture is smooth and evenly green, pausing to scrape down the sides if needed.
  3. Add the buttermilk or milk one tablespoon at a time, blending briefly after each addition, until the dip reaches your preferred thickness.
  4. Taste the dip and adjust with more jalapeño for heat, more lime juice for brightness, or a pinch of salt if needed.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Chill for 1–2 hours when possible for the best flavor.

Notes

Remove the jalapeño seeds and inner ribs for a milder dip, or leave some or all of them in for more heat. Use less liquid for a scoopable dip and more for a pourable dressing. Keep covered and refrigerated.
