Step-by-Step
- Add the almond milk to the blender first. Pouring in the liquid before the thicker ingredients helps the blades move freely and makes blending easier.
- Add the banana, Greek yogurt, almond butter, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and ice. Begin with 1/2 cup of ice if the banana is frozen, adding more later if you prefer a thicker drink.
- Blend on high for 30 to 60 seconds, or until the smoothie is completely smooth and creamy. Pause briefly to scrape down the sides if needed, then blend again.
- Taste the smoothie and adjust the texture. Add a little more almond milk to thin it, or add more ice or frozen banana to make it thicker.
- Pour into a glass and serve immediately. The smoothie is at its coldest, thickest, and freshest right after blending.
Notes
Use a frozen banana for the best creamy texture and a stronger banana flavor. For a vegan version, replace the Greek yogurt with dairy-free yogurt or use another 1/2 banana, and choose pure maple syrup or dates instead of honey.
