Cheeseburger Crescent Bites

These bite-size appetizers combine saucy ground beef, melted Cheddar, and flaky crescent dough in a simple oven-baked snack. The recipe makes approximately 32 bites and is ready in about 35 minutes.

Ingredients

Cheeseburger Filling
  • 1 lb Lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp Yellow mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar cheese
Pastry
  • 2 8-ounce cans Refrigerated crescent dinner rolls

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Heat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it so the crescent bites release easily after baking.
  2. Brown the lean ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it into small crumbles as it cooks. Continue for about 8-10 minutes, until no pink remains, then drain the beef thoroughly.
  3. Stir the ketchup, yellow mustard, salt, and black pepper into the cooked beef. Mix in the shredded Cheddar cheese until the filling is evenly combined.
  4. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles. Cut each triangle lengthwise into two narrow triangles to create 32 pieces.
  5. Place about 1 rounded tablespoon of the cheeseburger mixture near the wide end of each dough piece. Roll each piece toward the point, keeping the filling contained, and place the bites seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is puffed and golden brown. Serve warm with ketchup, mustard, or pickle relish for dipping if desired.

Notes

Drain the beef very well before adding the sauce and cheese, and avoid overfilling the dough. Refrigerate leftovers and reheat until hot and crisp.
