Step-by-Step
- Heat the oven to 350°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment, or lightly grease a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan.
- Combine the breadcrumbs and milk in a large bowl and let them stand for 2–3 minutes so the crumbs soften.
- Add the ground turkey, onion, garlic, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and optional parsley.
- Mix gently with clean hands or a fork just until combined. Avoid compacting or overworking the mixture.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf on the baking sheet, or place it in the prepared loaf pan.
- Stir together the glaze ingredients and spread about two-thirds over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes. Add the remaining glaze during the last 10–15 minutes if desired.
- Remove the meatloaf when the center reaches 165°F on an instant-read thermometer. Rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For the juiciest result, use 93% lean ground turkey and mix only until the ingredients are incorporated. A free-form loaf on a parchment-lined sheet pan browns evenly and allows excess liquid to drain. Refrigerate leftovers promptly and reheat gently so the slices stay moist.
