Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 apple Medium sweet apple, cored and chopped
  • 1 banana Frozen banana, sliced
  • 1 cup Unsweetened almond milk or regular milk
  • 1/2 cup Plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon Maple syrup, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Almond butter
Spices and Flavorings
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Ice
  • 1 pinch Salt

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Core and chop the apple. Peeling is optional when using a high-powered blender.
  2. Add the milk, Greek yogurt, apple, frozen banana, maple syrup, almond butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, optional salt, and ice to a blender.
  3. Blend on high for 45–60 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  4. Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness or spices. Add a small amount of milk if it is too thick.
  5. Pour into two glasses and serve immediately with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a little granola.

Notes

Use a naturally sweet, crisp apple such as Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala. Freeze the banana ahead of time for a thick texture. For a dairy-free version, use plant-based yogurt and almond, oat, or soy milk.
