Ingredients

Dessert Ball
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup Packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups Mini chocolate chips, divided
Decorations
  • 2 pretzels Large pretzels
  • 2 eyes Candy eyes
  • 1 piece Red M&M or red candy-coated chocolate
For Serving
  • As needed Crackers, vanilla wafers, pretzels, or fruit

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Beat the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the packed light brown sugar, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat again until the mixture is fully combined and evenly blended.
  3. Stir in 1 cup of the mini chocolate chips, distributing them throughout the mixture.
  4. Scrape the mixture onto plastic wrap or parchment paper. Shape it into a compact ball, wrap it well, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until firm.
  5. Unwrap the chilled ball and roll it in the additional 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips. Press gently so the chips adhere to the outside.
  6. Place the coated ball on a serving platter. Insert the pretzels at the top for antlers, then add the candy eyes and red candy nose.
  7. Serve chilled with crackers, vanilla wafers, pretzels, or fruit.

Notes

Fully soften the cream cheese and butter before mixing to prevent lumps. For the cleanest shape, form the dessert ball inside plastic wrap and refrigerate it overnight. Add the pretzels and candy decorations shortly before serving.
