Step-by-Step
- Lightly grease the slow cooker and place the four chicken breasts inside in a single layer as much as possible.
- Sprinkle the dry Italian salad-dressing seasoning mix evenly over the chicken.
- Stir the condensed cream of chicken soup and softened cream cheese together until reasonably smooth. Spread the mixture over the seasoned chicken.
- Cover and cook for 4–6 hours on LOW or about 2–3 hours on HIGH, checking the thickest chicken breast with an instant-read thermometer.
- When the chicken reaches 165°F in the thickest part and is tender, spoon the creamy sauce over each breast and serve with rice, egg noodles, or mashed potatoes.
Notes
Soften the cream cheese before mixing so it blends more smoothly into the soup. Use chicken breasts of similar size, or lightly pound very thick pieces to an even thickness. Do not rely only on cooking time; verify that the thickest breast reaches 165°F.
