Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 box (about 15.25 oz/432 g) Yellow or vanilla cake mix
  • 2 eggs Large eggs
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) Neutral-flavored vegetable oil
  • 1 cup (170 g) Semisweet chocolate chips

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Stir together the dry cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil until a thick dough forms.
  3. Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed.
  4. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing the portions about 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the edges are set while the centers still look slightly soft.
  6. Let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool.

Notes

If the dough feels too sticky or you prefer thicker cookies with less spreading, chill it for 20–30 minutes before scooping. Do not overbake because the cookies continue setting as they cool.
